Patience is a virtue.
Exams are a bitch.
Honestly, I’d really love to not fail any courses this semester. I’ve never failed a course in my life and I’d prefer not to start now. I’m used to getting decent marks in school but this term, I’d be quite happy to take my C-’s and D’s and run. On a brighter note, I’m not taking any math courses again for a while.
There may or may not be more posts for the next 2 weeks or so, depending on how much procrastinating I do and how much studying I don’t do.
So have a little patience.
In the mean time, enjoy some new free music. (guest : what Mick Jagger can’t get)
The Pixies : I’ll give ‘em a thumbs up in general. Some tracks really clicked for me and others left me scratching my head.
John Fogerty - Revival : People just don’t make music like this any more and it’s a shame. I would consider paying for this album if I hadn’t downloaded it first.
Eddie Vedder - Into the Wild : Well I liked it.. but I’m pretty sure it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. It’s simple, folky, and much better than I expected it to be.

… and so it begins.
After a week of frantic homework-doing, all-nighter assignment-finishing, and a little panicked last minute shift-switching, the snowboarding season has officially started.
I was up at Whistler riding Blackcomb for the day with some friends. All in all, it was a pretty epic first day. The weather was great, the mountain was untouched, and the lift lines were short. I’ve got a season pass this year, so I’ll be aiming to hit Whistler once every week or two.
Grouse Mountain, on the other hand, will not be getting a penny from me this season.
As a loyal customer who had purchased a season pass 5 years in a row at their special early rate, I forgot to buy one last year. I asked for a deal on a pass as a gesture of goodwill, but they refused to sell me a pass at the early rate. They even refused to match Whistler/Blackcomb’s price for a pass. I was left with two choices:
Whistler/Blackcomb: $399 for a student pass
Grouse Mountain: $730 for a regular pass
Hmm.. really tough decision there.
It occurred to me today, that a solid 95% of the students at SFU wear jeans (myself included). It’s like some kind of unofficial uniform. After almost one and a half years of university some new kind of enlightenment fell on me as I looked down the hall. Everyone wears the same pants.
